Raphael Buehler

Raphael grew up in the south of France, in a small town near Marseille, before moving to Munich to study chemistry. There, he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the TUM and subsequently pursued his doctoral thesis under the supervision of Roland A. Fischer. His research focused on small-molecule activation using bimetallic complexes and clusters, with particular emphasis on Cu/Zn clusters. After completing his PhD, Raphael undertook a postdoctoral research project under the supervision of Jean-Yves Saillard in Rennes, where he worked on the bonding analysis of gallylene-coordinated transition metal complexes. He then joined the Crimmin group to work on fluorine recycling using HF-shuttling catalysts. Outside the lab, he enjoys travelling, doing sports, and spending time with friends.
